A good medical record system is essential for an eye hospital to provide quality treatment, continuity of care and data for decision making and research. A good medical record is the backbone document of the quality of treatment delivered to the patient. And medical records management is a science that can be learned.

What you will learn in this course

This two-week course will guide you through developing a comprehensive medical record system from generation of the record to analyzing the information in the records. At the end of the course you will be able to establish a Medical Records Department including best practices: from data organization to IT- driven processing.

Teaching Methods

Class time is a combination of lectures and case discussion complemented with significant exposure to the Medical Record Department within Dr. K. Zaman BNSB Eye Hospital. Expect thorough exposure to other tertiary  hospitals, PEC , Vision centers  and outreach programs.
